Q: I dont live in the NYC area. How do I take one of your courses or meet with you individually?
A: For those outside the greater NYC area, courses are available by telephone conference call, with your phone charges limited to the cost of a long distance call.
Individual sessions are available via email or telephone, whichever you prefer.
Q: Who generally takes these courses? I dont want to be hanging out with a bunch of losers. Whats the age range? Whats their situation?
A: I screen all prospective attendees for the workshops. Only those who are serious about growth and change are accepted. In general, those who do these classes are successful professionals in the 30-55 year age range. They are either newly single, have been experiencing some frustration with the singles scene, or simply want to develop themselves by learning new interpersonal skills.
Q: Whats the Money-Back Guarantee all about? How exactly do I get my money back if Im not satisfied??
A: You get your money back this way: Do the entire 6 week course; follow the principles I teach for another month. If, at the end of that time, you tell me, Charley, this just isnt working for me, I send you a full refund by mail.
Q: Whats your success rate? Do people meet or date in The RelationShop? Has anyone gotten married from the course?
A: Although I havent kept statistics, people use this course to change their lovelife and move ahead. Some have met in the class, and a few have married (See Testimonials). But I must emphasize that this is not what the course is about. The classes, although 50/50, are small. Dont count on meeting someone in the class. But do count on getting the opposite sexs point of view and learning new ways to find and keep someone special.
Q: What hours are you available individually? When does The RelationShop and your other workshops meet?
A: I basically keep office hours from noon to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The RelationShop is held on weekday evenings. The one day womens or mens course is held on a Saturday afternoon.
Q: Would individual sessions or The RelationShop be better for me?
A: I cover the same material in both. Some people are shy, or hesitant to share their experience in a group setting, or simply prefer one-on-one coaching sessions that focus more on their particular needs. Others prefer comparing notes and hearing from others who are in the same boat.
Q: Ive had lousy luck at love. Ive tried everything! What makes you so sure your coaching is going to help me?
A: Because I myself have personally made every damn mistake in the book! And I found a way out of every lonely, frustrating Black Hole there is out there. In addition, through me you also get the lessons distilled from the experiences of all those Ive helped. So save your heartache and your precious time. My principles and techniques work, and theyve helped thousands of people. Keep this in mind: There is absolutely someone out there for you! Like the Buddhists say, Fall down seven times; get up eight!
Q: Whats the main stuff you cover in The RelationShop or your individual coaching sessions?
A: All the basics: Where to go; what to do when you get there; how to start a conversation and keep it going; the best opening lines to use (for a man or a woman); how to quickly and accurately size someone up; all the basic dos and donts of dating; how to deal with rejection (giving it or receiving it); all about sex on a date; all about pacing a relationship so it doesnt burn out or suffocate to death; and how, finally, to feel less lonely and enjoy being single until you find someone.
Q: What makes you so qualified to give me advice?
A: Besides being a practicing Certified Gestalt Psychotherapist for the past 15 years, and a Dating Coach the past 7 years, Ive also had my finger on the pulse of the dating scene because of personal experience. I was married for 9 years, and then divorced, finding myself single again in a scene that had changed totally from when I was younger. All the old rules were out the window, and I had to learn the new ones. Frankly, I found the singles scene to be like some great wilderness out there, so I set about teaching myself wilderness skills. I was on hundreds of dates with dozens of women and learned the hard way what it takes to find and keep someone special.
Q: So are you in a relationship now?
A: Ive used what Ive learned to find and stay in a very successful love affair. Shelley and I are about to celebrate our 4th year together.
Q: How long are your individual sessions?
A: 50 minutes.
Q: Why should I spend my good time and money on you?
A: People spend more time researching buying a car or a major
appliance than they do on finding and keeping the one relationship thats most important to their well being. Lets face it: We werent taught this stuff in school. Isnt your lovelife worth an investment? Besides, there's a lot of singles, which means a lot of competition out there (have you noticed?) and you need all the information you can get.
Q: Isnt finding someone really a matter of luck?
A: The best definition of Luck is: Where preparation meets opportunity. This work is about preparation, and increasing the opportunities.
